Threads
Thread tightening is a type of aesthetic treatment used for facial rejuvenation and correction of sagging skin.
These are thin, strong, resorbable threads that are inserted under the skin to lift and tighten facial tissues. This procedure is less invasive than some cosmetic surgeries and we perform it in the office.
Its effect can last up to 18 months. We use it on the face, neck and chin and to redensify the arms, abdomen and legs.
Some of the applications of tension threads are the following:
- Facial Rejuvenation: Lifting threads can be used to lift and reposition facial tissues, which can result in a younger, firmer appearance. They are commonly used to treat sagging in areas such as the cheeks, neck, and eyebrows.
- Correction of sagging: If the skin has lost elasticity and firmness due to aging, sun exposure or other factors, tightening threads may be an option to correct sagging.
- Facial contour: Lifting threads can also be used to improve facial contour by defining and firming specific areas, such as the jaw and neck.
- Collagen stimulation: In addition to the immediate lifting effect, tightening threads stimulate collagen production in the skin. Collagen is an essential protein for skin elasticity and firmness, and its additional production can improve skin quality in the long term.
Aftercare:
- Avoid sudden movements: During the first days after the procedure, it is advisable to avoid sudden facial movements, especially in the treated areas. This can help prevent discomfort and reduce the chance of the threads becoming dislodged.
- Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area: It is important to avoid touching or rubbing the area where the threads were placed, as this could interfere with the healing process and displace the threads.
- Avoid sun exposure: It is recommended to avoid direct sun exposure and, if necessary, use broad-spectrum sunscreen. Sun exposure can increase the risk of swelling and bruising, as well as affect skin healing.
- Avoid saunas and hot baths: Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, such as saunas or hot baths, during the first few days after the procedure.
- Sleeping in an elevated position: During the first nights after placing the tension threads, it is recommended to sleep with your head slightly elevated. This can help reduce swelling.
- Avoid intense exercise: It is advisable to avoid intense physical activities and vigorous exercise during the initial recovery period to minimize the risk of bruising and discomfort.
- Follow medical instructions: Make sure you follow all instructions provided at the clinic. This may include applying recommended creams or gels, as well as taking prescribed medications to control pain or prevent infections.
- Perform follow-up checkups: Schedule and attend all recommended follow-up appointments to evaluate progress and address any concerns you may have.
