In our clinic we treat post-acne scars, rosacea, skin spots that appear due to sun exposure, as well as other pigmentations such as melasma. Likewise, vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias, ruby points and couperosis.
Importantly, before starting any treatment, a medical evaluation should be performed to determine the type of stain and the best approach to remove it. Here are some treatments we use to treat different types of stains:
- Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL): Used to treat pigmented spots such as solar lentigines, age spots and melasma. Also vascular lesions such as telangiectasias, rosacea, couperosis and ruby points. These treatments use light energy to break down and eliminate unwanted pigmentation.
- Chemical Peels: Chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to the skin to exfoliate the surface layers. They can be used to treat spots caused by sun exposure, such as melasma and age spots.
- Depigmentation creams: Some creams contain ingredients such as hydroquinone, kojic acid, glycolic acid or retinoids, which can help reduce pigmentation and lighten the skin. These creams are often used to treat melasma and other hyperpigmentation.
